Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective, professional business relations with members by performing a wide variety of customer service and clerical duties related to teller duties. Assists members and answers or appropriately refers questions.

This is an excellent role for a person with experience in our industry, or an industry with a strong emphasis on customer service. We are a highly member focused credit union. 

The hours of this position vary from 7:45am-5:15pm or 6:15pm on Fridays. Rotating Saturday schedule is also a must for the position as the branch hours are open from 9:00am-12:00pm.

Part-Time Teller

We are announcing an opening for a Part-Time Teller reporting to the Teller Supervisor and based in the Stevens Point office.

Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective, professional business relations with members by performing a wide variety of customer service and clerical duties related to teller duties. Assists members and answers or appropriately refers questions.

This is an excellent role for a person with experience in our industry, or an industry with a strong emphasis on customer service. We are a highly member focused credit union.

The hours of this position vary from 7:45am-5:15pm or 6:15pm on Fridays. Rotating Saturday schedule is also a must for the position as the branch hours are open from 8:45am-12:15pm. On average 25 hours per week, some additional hours added when needed.

Wisconsin Rapids Office

Teller Supervisor

We are announcing an opening for a Full Time Teller Supervisor reporting to the Branch Manager in the Wisconsin Rapids Office. The primary function of this position is to coordinate and supervise all aspects of teller operations within the branch ensuring the daily activities are being performed on a timely manner.

Basic Functions:

Coordinate and supervise all aspects of teller operations within the branch ensuring the daily activities of the tellers are performed in a timely, accurate and courteous manner. Order and conduct vault cash and coin duties. Well versed in all branch operational procedures. Good leadership skills and the ability to motivate others are necessary. Actively participates in the branch goals by promoting and providing product information and coaching. Provide direction and leadership to tellers by assigning duties while providing guidance as needed. Maintain branch surroundings that reflect the credit union’s commitment to provide exceptional member service.

Responsibilities:

  • A minimum of 90% work hours will be spent working the frontline and supervising teller staff, assisting in the coaching, training and development of tellers. Assists tellers in solving member problems, serving as an operational reference.
  • Coach staff on a regular basis to guide them to higher performance and productivity, encourage employees to actively cross sell credit union products and services.
  • Work with branch management on Branch Goals. It will be required to establish staff goals and work closely with staff on individual goals.
  • Ensures members are greeted and welcomed to the credit union in a courteous, professional and timely manner.
  • Open communication with staff and branch management of any significant problems or concerns.
  • Aid tellers with balancing problems.
  • Order and maintain vault cash.
  • Work to schedule weekly hours for all teller personnel, with branch manager approval.
  • Ensures that lobby and work area is clean, secure and well maintained.
  • Maintain cleaning schedule for branch.
  • Ability to step in for the Member Service as needed.
  • Knowledge of all teller functions and credit union products and services.
  • Assist branch management to enforce all security procedures as well as other departmental policies and procedures.
  • ATM duties; oversee upkeep, operational maintenance and procedural balancing of ATM.
  • Investigate teller losses and institute a corrective flow of work.
  • Research and resolve member questions, problems and concerns by telephone, written correspondence or in person.
  • Daily branch balancing with getting information to accounting in a timely fashion.
  • Monitor inventory of supplies in the teller operation area, ordering standard supplies when necessary.
  • Approve transactions that are an exception to credit union procedures and transactions that require supervisor override.
  • Making judgments for staff (within limits of authority) pertaining to cashing and/or accepting checks or drafts and verifying.
  • Monitor all check holds.
  • Work with Branch Manager to evaluate job performance on a regular basis.
  • Work with Branch Manager on negative accounts, returned/NSF checks, small claims and money judgments.
  • Assist branch management with any other duties, as assigned.

Education and/or experience

  • Preferred candidates will possess prior supervisory experience, cash handling and financial industry experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as exceptional attention to detail skills.
  • Knowledge of credit union products and services is a plus.

This position will be part time averaging 25-30 hours per week, with some increase to those hours depending on the needs of the credit union branches and vacation schedules. This person must have great flexibility and be available during the hours of operation of the credit union 7:45am-5:15pm Monday-Friday and 7:45am-6:15pm on Fridays with a rotating Saturday schedule.

Summary: It is the responsibility of the Human Resources Department to represent the Employees and Valley Communities Credit Union in all areas of compliancy.
